Today, Governor Baker outlined the details of our state’s plan to reopen the economy over the coming months. If you haven’t watched it, I definitely recommend checking it out here: https://youtu.be/VrnY_dON33.
I wanted to touch base with all of you to give you an update on where we’re at in the grand scheme of things.
First off, a quick thank you to everyone for your continued patience and support as we’ve adapted to our new way of doing business. We’re so lucky to be able to take advantage of new technology like Zoom which enables us to keep teaching online private lessons during the lockdown. And to everyone who has been buying their books, instruments, and accessories using our online store, thank you so much. It means a lot to us and it makes a big difference.
Given the social nature of what we do and the fact that our small building makes it hard to maintain social distancing, we expect it will still be a while before we open our doors and conduct lessons and other business in person. I wish I could tell you when, but it’s just impossible to say.
We have to be as close to 100% certain that whatever changes we make toward fully reopening don’t put the lives of our students, teachers, staff and everyone’s families in danger.
In the meantime, we will continue to:
- Closely follow the news as Massachusetts slowly reopens and update our plan accordingly
- Provide online music lessons and focus on making them as fun, engaging, and educational as possible.
- Allow customers to schedule curbside appointments to return their rental instruments or pick up goods they buy from our online store.
- Follow the mandatory safety standards set by the state
We’re also offering free same-day local delivery for customers in Framingham. Anything you buy on our online store, Monday through Friday, before 4:00 will be delivered to you that same day, for free. I know I speak for myself and the rest of the Centre Music House team when I say that we miss you all very dearly. I wish we could all be back in the shop tomorrow, sharing music, learning, and having fun together. But in order for our community to come together again in person, we have to be smart and we have to be careful.
We’ve made it this far. I know we can do this!
